LARSIAN sa Fuente (Cebu City, Philippines)

December 6 & 7, 2012 (Thursday & Friday Nights)

Fuente-Osmeña near Chong Hua Hospital and Cybergate Mall

I just learned about Larsian sa Fuente just days before our flight. I was reading about the beautiful Bojo River in Aloguinsan, Cebu but the unexpected typhoon visited the beautiful river 2 days before our trip. That’s the reason why I just decided to tour the City instead of a River Tour for my birthday. Nonetheless Cebu City didn’t fail me.

Larsian sa Fuente is just a 10-minute walk from our hotel, CROWN REGENCY HOTEL & TOWERS, very near to Chong Hua Hospital and Robinson’s Cybergate Mall.

If you are still not familiar with the place, you can ask any by-standers, they’re friendly and will assist you.

There were lots of stalls to choose from, with same menu on their lists, but the difference was the PRICE.

On our first night, we tried at MAXS BBQ and MANO’S PLACE Stalls.

Our order:
Chicken Petso P60 ($1.46)
Pork bbq without fat P5 per stick ($0.05)
Chorizo P15 ($0.37)
“Puso” rice P3 each ($0.07)
Grilled Squid P90 ($2.19)

Service was a bit slow, I was shocked the they first served the other table than us. They served no free soup.

Our total BILL: P175 ($4.19) not bad!

On our 2nd Night, being smarter about the price, my brother chose ALINDASAY Stall. They have electric fan and free soup to attract customers.

Our orders at ALINDASAY Stall:
Liempo P80 ($1.95)
Grilled Squid 65 ($1.58)
Pork bbq with no fat P5 per stick ($0.05)
Chicken Petso P50($1.22)
“Puso” rice P3 each ($0.07)

Total BILL: P250 ($6.07)

We were hungry that night. Having visited the different tourist spots in the city in the afternoon. We only had breakfast that day. The 2nd night was enjoyable, food was great especially the tasty liempo and superb service.

Larsian sa Fuente has lots of stalls to choose from, no need to worry about availability of tables and chairs, it’s safe, clean.

  1. Ah, how I miss the food trips I had when in Cebu. Larsian is definitely one of the must-go-to places in the city as well as the other Cebu-only boutique foodie places. CnT and Luz Lechon is the way to go! 😀

    1. I just wish Manila will do the same as Cebu’s Larsian. I know ang patok ngayon is Mercato style which caters the middle class up. Ang gusto ko aside sa Mall’s food court, we should have a Hawker’s style like Larsian all over Manila.

      1. Because the Chinese investor called SM saw an opportunity to set up the hawker house in an aircon type foodcourt. High rental price translated into high food prices.

Most foreigners are actually OK with the idea of sitting in a plastic chairs, plastic tables, in an open area just like Jalan Alor in Malaysia, Makansutra in SG, nagkalat na streetfood at lutong bahay in Vietnam.

Tumaas na rin kasi standards naten kaya minsan di na naiisip na makakadagdag ng business opportunities ang mga Hawkers Stalls (just like Larsian in Cebu) sa Manila esp maraming students dun.
