Magellan and Lapu-Lapu Shrine (Mactan Island, Cebu)

December 6, 2012 (Thursday)

Punta Engaño,
Mactan Island,
Cebu, Philippines

We arrived at 5:30am at the Mactan-Cebu International Airport, a one-hour-and-ten-minute plane ride from Manila. Took our time first at the airport because it was too early. By 6:00am we hailed a white taxi to Punta Engaño to visit Magellan Shrine and Lapu Lapu Shrine. It was a 30-minute taxi ride and costs us P130 ($3.16).

Good thing about the park was it was so clean and it has NO ENTRANCE FEE. Place was safe and there were cebuanos taking their morning jogs.

What I liked about the place was it brings back memories from gradeschool seeing Lapu-Lapu’s Shrine and reading him and Magellan through history books.

A time well spent in Mactan Island.

I posted a blog about SUTUKIL RESTAURANT a 5-minute walking distance from the park.

  1. Hi Sis,
Just want to ask, saan nyo iniwan stuff nyo when you came from the airport and went directly to Mactan & LapuLapu’s Shrine? A friend and I plan to do the same thing kasi 🙂 eh, di ako sure if the taxi drivers there are trustwrthy or not 😛 hehe

    1. Hi Sis! straight from the airport, dumiretso na kame sa Lapu Lapu Shrine w/ our baggages. Taxi P130. Dala na namin sa park yung baggage namin. I was with my younger brother so I have someone to assists me during our Cebu trip.

Then from Lapu Lapu Shrine to our Hotel P300. (normally nagpapadagdag na sila ng P50 pagkasakay mo pa lang ng taxi).

      Hope this helps.

      Thanks for dropping by.
