Thank You! HANABISHI Home Appliances Philippines (January 2014)

(FREE) HANABISHI MICROWAVE OVEN

It started from a blog comment from Mr. Ronn Villanueva of HANABISHI Home Appliances Philippines.

20140205-234538.jpg

Informing me that I will be receiving a FREE GIFT, A NEW MICROWAVE OVEN due to hassle I experienced from my first Hanabishi Microwave Oven. I was puzzled at first if the comment was a HOAX, so I immediately searched Hanabishi contact number via google and called their office. The person on the other line confirmed that Mr. Villanueva is from their Marketing Department and she also gave me the same mobile number posted in the comment. Confirmed!

20140205-234935.jpg

After calling their office number, I sent Mr. Villanueva an email that afternoon, then immediately received a reply. Started to appreciate their extended customer service even if I experienced the microwave oven hassles, two years ago.

20140205-235124.jpg

Through constant communication via emails and text messages, they promised for the FREE MERCHANDISED to be delivered in a week’s time.

True to their promise, I was awakened by my grandmother at 10:30am, January 28th (Tuesday) and informed me that a delivery guy was at the gate.

After a few minutes at the washroom, I hurriedly went downstairs. Before signing the delivery receipt, being careful, I opened the box, with the help of the delivery guy, I tested the NEW Microwave Oven first. 😁
Put a cup of water and hot water in seconds!

I really felt I have won something this New Year of 2014! So, many thanks to HANABISHI Philippines, Mr. Ronn Villanueva, and to all the staffs of their company that made this possible!

HANABISHI-True To Their PROMISE!👍

*It took me a week to write this, I was focused on posting food reviews at looloo for a week* ☺️

20140127-001259.jpg

Arrived past 6:30pm, there’s still available tables on a Friday dinner. Checked the menu and found the 3 significant vietnamese foods that stuck to us until today. Pho Bo (Beef Noodles, Bun Cha (Grilled Pork, Fried Spring Roll, Vermicelli Rice), Gui Cuon (Fresh Spring Roll).

20140127-001715.jpg

20140127-001744.jpg

20140127-001827.jpg

20140127-001850.jpg

I asked the staff to served the PHO BO (BEEF NOODLES) as soon as it’s available. We wanted to savor the hot broth the way it was served in Hanoi. It was hot alright but after few minutes broth was getting cold. First sip was like, OK, this is better than my experience in Pho Hoa and Pho 24. My shoulders did not shrug and wish that I go back in Hanoi as soon as possible. This was OK for me. I asked for pepper to taste.

20140127-002044.jpg

20140127-002119.jpg

BUN CHA: a totally different from what we’ve experience in Hanoi where Bun Cha was served in a different bowls (rice vermicelli, grilled pork, fried spring rolls, their awesome sauce/soup, and lots of greens/veggies). Theirs was in a bowl filled with rice vermicelli, grilled pork (2pcs) that tasted burger patty, spring rolls (2pcs sliced into two) that’s on the sweet side, and cabbage instead of mints & different greens), and the sauce/soup was served in a saucer instead of small bowl in Hanoi. Experience was not the same but because it’s different from most of the restaurants that serving carbo and oily food, I commend this resto for trying their best to give us a healthy meal.

20140127-002313.jpg

20140127-002400.jpg

GOI CUON (Fresh Spring Rolls): this cannot stand on its own, bland, sticky wrapper, but the peanut sauce help this meal on my opinion.

20140127-002545.jpg

20140127-002609.jpg

My friend’s opinion: Pho Bo (Beef Noodles) Ba Noi’s, Bun Cha (Grilled Pork, Fried Spring Rolls) Pho Hoa

Fast Service, Attentive Staffs, FREE WiFi

TOTAL: 746.16 (less than $17.00) w/ 12% VAT + 10% Service Charge (Shared by 2, no take out, in short ubos! hehehe)

The HANOI foodgasm Experience (VIETNAM 2012)

HANOI, VIETNAM

joyvz.wordpress.com
June 23 to July 4, 2012

1)  My second favorite Vietnamese food — BUN CHA! Served during lunch time only.

Nhà hàng Đắc Kim – Bún chả, nem cua bể

No. 1 Hang Manh costs us 90.000 VND (3 serving)

image

2) CAMELLIA 4 HOTEL:

www.camellia-hotels.com

64 Hang Giay Street, Hoan Kiem District-Old Quarter, Hanoi (RECOMMENDED HOTEL!)

The hotel we were staying provided an eat-all-you-can breakfast with same menu everyday (9-10days we spent in Hanoi). I  have no complaints because it was a big savings on my part and a filling breakfast everyday! (no pho in the menu, but a 20 steps away from the hotel let you taste the most amazing bowl of PHO BO at PHO VUI.)

image

3) QUAN AN NGON

Quan An Ngon WEBSITE

18 Phan Boi Chau, Hoan Kiem, Ha Noi

I like the fresh taste of shrimps of the Spring Rolls dipped in peanut sauce, PHO’s (Phở bò chín nạm gầu) not that spectacular, fried rice and mango salad were good

We ordered:

Gỏi xoài hải sản (Mango Salad with Seafood)

Gỏi cuốn tôm thịt (Vietnamese pork & shrimp spring rolls)

Phở bò chín nạm gầu (Vietnamese Beef Noodles)

(Fried Rice)

image

4) PHO VUI (Phở Vui – Hàng Giầy)

Wall Street Journal recommends!
25 Hang Giay Street

the tastiest bowl of PHO BO I’ve ever tasted in Old Quarter, HANOI. One bowl only costs 40.000VND but memory from it will last a lifetime. Just don’t look at the person preparing this PHO. They don’t usually wear hand gloves when putting beef on top of the PHO. Just think that the hot broth will kill all the bacteria from his hands to the beef hahaha.. Don’t be scared, I didn’t get anything from my Hanoi trip. So it’s perfectly safe.

5) HIGHWAY 4 RESTAURANTS

http://highway4.com/image/articles/Food-Menu.pdf

54 Mai Hắc Đế, Hai Bà Trưng District, Hà Nội

Another treat from the group of Filipinos working in Hanoi. Everything was delish, so good, especially the mushroom with sauce, fresh spring rolls and beef strips

We ORDERED:

PHỞ CUỐN CHAY 56 (4 chiếc) Rice Noodle Rolls filled w/Vegetables (4 pieces)

NEM TÔM KIỂU HUẾ 95 (6 chiếc) Fresh Shrimp Spring Rolls (6 pieces)

BÒ NƯỚNG KIỂU XA LỘ4 145 Highway4-style grilled Parcels of Beef

NẤM THẬP CẨM XA LỘ4 95 Eight Types of Mushroom in a Highway4 Sauce

MỰC TƯƠI TẨM BỘT CHIÊN RÒN 135 Fresh Squid in a Crispy Batter

NỘM XOÀI XANH CHUA CAY 65 Spicy & Sour Green Mango Salad

NGỌN SU SU XÀO/LUỘC 48 Sauteed/boiled Chayote Stalks & Leave

RAU XÀO/LUỘC THEO MÙA 38 Sauteed/boiled Seasonal Vegetable

image

6) THAI EXPRESS

http://www.thaiexpress.vn/en/

My friend treated us at Thai Express, near Hoan Kiem District, just below the Legend Beer Restaurant. Shabu-Shabu, Pad Thai, Spicy Tofu, Red Bean Shake (I paid for this one).

We ORDERED:

SEAFOOD Shabu-Shabu

Pad Si Ew Neua Thai stir-fried kway teow with beef

krêu.ang dèum Red Bean Milkshake (A ThaiExpress specialty)

image

7) CAFE REFRESHER

We ordered a lotof Bia Hoi here for 15.000VND per mug and ordered an instant noodle “taste” PHO BO. Mistakes we made every time we stayed here. Because PHO VUI was just around the corner.  One of the best PHO BO in Old Quarter.

image

8) LOTTERIA and KFC

(An alternative to KFC? Not really. They almost have the same price but KFC was way better). It was suggested by a friend (she was so scared that we might get HEPATITIS from eating a lot of streetfoods) the reason we tried it.

a) Lotteria
image

b) KFC try their sweet-chili sauce

image

9) THANH LONG 05 (HALONG BAY TOUR)

This meal was included in our tour ($22), it was shared by 5-6 people in one table. I was so hungry that time. And it was customary to served the rice after they served all the food. So what’s the purpose of rice? That i don’t know.

image

10) DRAGONFLY Bar-Club and TEMPLE BAR

We started having shots at Dragonfly Bar-Club, seated at a round table with high chairs, when police started entering, music turned low. We decided to transfer at Temple Bar, right across the street, there we partied on a simple get-up and they don’t care. No discrimination what so ever. Read a lot from the net that they’ve experience negative things on both bars. Good for us we had a great night and had fun!

Tequila shots at 50.000VND

image

11) FEELING TEA

45 Cau Go street, Hoan Kiem district, Ha Noi

We saw this stall while walking the streets of Hoan Kiem District, decided to try it because it’s cheap (10.000-20.000VND). Did not dissapoint tho. (I was shying away from vietnamese coffee my whole trip because I have GERD/Acid Reflux/Heartburn but Bia Hoi was an exemption hahaha!)

image

12) IMBA PUB

29 Hang Giay, Hoàn Kiếm, Hanoi

it was just along Hang Giay street, 20 steps away from our hotel, decided to have a shot of tequila  50.000VND and the music was good. They were playing Adele that day. A must pub if you just like to have a drink and chill.

image

13) BBQ KEBAB or BANH MI DONER KEBAB 20.000VND

One of the few things I’ve noticed in HANOI was they don’t care about using their bare hands when preparing food like this and they will use the same hands to give change to their customers.

Post-birthday celebration, I decided to ask my 2 grandmothers to accomodate me at VIKINGS The Block. Before-hand I know what to expect. Waiting-list.

image

We arrived past 10am, fall in line to get a number. No. 24 to be exact. A lot of customers were willing to wait, including us. I decided to have the buffet here because I’ve already tried at VIKINGS SM Marikina (thrice).

image

image

At the start of 11AM they started calling the customers with reservations. My grandmother, being an owner of a catering service, and frequently meet a lot of personalities, used her charm to call the manager’s attention. After minutes of discussing events and the Chef she recognizes from Malacañang days, the manager prioritized us. Not because of their long talks but because I’m with two (2) senior citizens (75 years old and above are at 50% off).

We got our table 10 past 11AM.

Even if it was already 2 days past my birthday, they still performed a 15second birthday jingle for me. Compare to SM Marikina branch, these guys were HILARIOUS and made the whole venue a party-atmosphere!
