I was considering three buffet restaurants (budget wise) before I finalized to celebrate my mama’s birthday at VIKINGS (SM Marikina).

This was my THIRD time at VIKINGS. First time was in MOA Branch on 2011, my grandmother’s birthday here at SM Marikina on October 2012. And my latest at my mama’s 53rd birthday on May 8th of this year.

What I like about Vikings, aside from their delicious food and great service, was their BIRTHDAY PROMO. In which birthday celebrants eat for FREE! (Promo is until the end of 2013, and to avail of the promo, celebrant/s should eat on the day of their birthday).

Me and the birthday celebrant, my mama.

at exactly 11am, they were started calling the names on the list. I thought there were only few groups who will dine in on a Wednesday Lunch, but after an hour, almost all the tables were taken.

There were a few choices, Japanese, Vietnamese, and more Chinese food choices. I don’t want to try the Vietnamese noodles because I wanted to remember the same taste from my Hanoi streetfood experience.

We wanted to maximize the Chinese dining experience in Hong Kong, that’s why we ended up ordering in MRS. WINGS. I consider it a fatal mistake.

I am not the best person to ask about Indian Food because this was my first time to try the cuisine (not including the Biryani Rice with Chicken I bought the night before, which was dry and chewy. I bought it from the other stall, not here in Butt Fast Food).

I read a lot of blogs the night before so I would not get dissapointed this time around. And hooray! I made the right order.

CHICKEN TIKKA MASALA hk$40.00 (Thumbs up!)

PLAIN NAAN hk$5.00 freshly made, hot and tasty.

I won’t forget my Indian Food experience in a Chinese Cuisine country. Honestly I enjoyed this meal more than all the meals I ate during my Hong Kong Food Trips. Price wise Indian Food is a bit pricey but it gave me a wondeful remembrance.

After my solo dinner at JOLLIBEE just nearby from
chowking. I’ve decided to buy my fam dinner from CHOWKING. Bought a Family Chinese Fried Chicken Set C with 5 pcs. Chinese Style Fried Chicken, Chopseuy, 3 plain rice, Pancit Canton and 3 regular drinks for P399 ($9.67)

5 pcs. CHINESE STYLE FRIED CHICKEN big in size compare to KFC’s, Mc Donald’s, and Jollibee’s, I love the unique spices they put over the skin of the chicken very different from floury taste of others, did I say big? Oh yeah! Hahaha

PANCIT CANTON my mama’s favorite

CHOP SUEY I felt tricked when I saw the small portion they served me.

But, what Chowking gives its customers is it’s very tasty meals.

I bought my iPhone 4s on March 2012 and I’ve been using it ever since for 12-15 hrs a day. And we all know iPhone battery sucks and it drains after power using for 4hrs straight. So you get to use your charger 4-5 times a day. So, it’s original charger doesn’t charged normally anymore. You have to adjust it’s charging style for it to work. I found this problem
around December of 2012. I just got lucky I had my SAMSUNG S3 in January 2013 as a birthday gift. [maybe I will have a separate blog regarding the overheating problem of S3].

So, I decided to buy a charger for my 4s. I first quoted different accessories stores before I bought Philips. So far, I love its stability because you can also use this charger as a stand. I, who frequently use facetime gave me a support for longer hours of video calls.

What’s good about it, was it has the same range of price with apple’s regular charger.

I know its a bit pricey buying accessories and gadgets here in the Philippines due to tax. But I would rather buy here for warranty purposes or pay more once it’s broken. Power connector not included.

Warranty: 6 months under Power Mac Center and 1 year under Philips.

After my BPI errands, I walked to the nearby establishments to checked what to eat for merienda. Ok, there are Mercury (for cold drinks), 7-11 (for snacks, Black Pearl (for shakes), Mc Donald’s (for floats & fries).. Then I rememered since JOLLIBEE released the ULTIMATE BURGER STEAK I haven’t had the chance to try this meal.

Fall in line for a few minutes, greeted by a wonderful cashier, very courteous. Ordered the meal and COOKIE BERRY Sundae MILO Mix-Ins.

ULTIMATE BURGER STEAK with regular drink P119 ($2.88) this burger steak is not really a steak, steak. But a bigger version of the patty used on their Jollibee Burgers, topped with jollibee-goodness mushroom gravy with crispy fries underneath the burger steak. Fries look appealing at first but became soggy once left for few minutes under the delicious mushroom gravy. (Suggestion: ask to separate it)

20130413-014956.jpg

It was a wonderful experience in every bite. Every Filipino remembers their childhood because of Jollibee. That’s the impact it has for us. Even Filipino workers abroad craved Jollibee in their dreams. I feel sorry for them.

Meal was heavy for me. I almost ate the whole set plus half of the Sundae Mix-Ins.

April 9, 2013 (Tuesday)

One hot summer afternoon, I called up Western Appliances Sta. Lucia Branch inquiring if they have an available aircon model that I’m looking for a couple of days ago. The appliance centres near our home were either out of stock or no such models. After I heard the other person on the line, saying “yes we have a last stock available”, I hurried to get ready. I asked my brother to assist me and he obliged. (My siblings are scared of me by the way lols!)

We were so hungry and found this tempura stand called TOKYO TEMPURA and tried it first.

20130412-223237.jpg

I ordered the 9 pcs. shrimp tempuras BIGGU for P99 ($2.40) We wished they put something on the flour so we could really appreciate the shimps. Flour was over-powering the over-all taste. Just OK!

20130412-223531.jpg

Then we checked all the restaurants in the mall, but, FRENCH BAKER stands out. It just pulls me back & remembered my college days by just seeing the restaurant.

Our orders, weren’t smooth serviced. I mean, I was served with a dirty water, and it took us 35 minutes to have one of our 2 orders. BUT, all the fuss were clearly erased, once I had my first taste of the SEAFOOD ALA KING. So heavenly good. I felt I was transported somewhere else in that moment. You tend to forget everything!

SEAFOOD ALA KING P205 ($4.97) heavenly good, a must try! You won’t regret it.

JACK’S LOFT, RED BOX, TIDES, SERENITEA
Quezon City

2013-March-17 (Sunday)

My friends called me in a boring Sunday afternoon. Asking if I wanted to meet them at Trinoma. I had second thoughts because I don’t want to over used my funds. I’m glad they said they’d pick me up over and that meant I’ll join them! hahaha

We hangout first at JACK’s LOFT to have some beers while waiting for our scheduled VIDEOKE at RED BOX.

I long forgotten to drink beer, because I’m after for the health benefits of red wine, and beer makes me full. My friend reminded me that San Miguel Beer Premium reminded her of the black beer we ordered at LEGEND BEER in HANOI. So beer it was! I was amazed of its smooth tastes. And after 1 bottle I felt tipsy!

20130321-222513.jpg

Before 4pm, we headed over to RED BOX. Honestly, I wasn’t prepared but I definitely enjoyed the VIDEOKE. This was our usual thing to do. Sing!

20130321-223641.jpg

RED BOX www.redbox.com.ph we took the 4PM-6PM “JOE HOUR” Promo P149/head Includes room plus 1 free drink. We ordered San Miguel Cerveza Negra. Spot on!

Next stop? TIDES GRILL & BISTRO Sct. Alabano, Q.C. www.tides-grill.com
It was past dinner and kinda hungry from all the beers. We ordered the usual “pulutan” but makes you happy everytime you have a sizzling plate of PORK SISIG & NACHOS on the side plus one rice for sharing. The night was all about good “conversations”. Great way to catch up with life.

20130321-224710.jpg

To cap the night, instead of coffee, we ended up at SERENITEA www.iloveserenitea.com .

20130321-230626.jpg

Finally, with all the establishments, Serenitea has a free WIFI. That’s what I’m looking for when deciding to hangout. I ordered this refreshing Honeydew Matcha Milktea P95 but 75% sugar was alittle sweetness overboard. So I’d make it 25 or 50 on my next order. I know beers and milkteas don’t complement each other so don’t ever try this! Hahahaha

Great way to hangout on a SUNDAY night.

I’ve been planning to try their service. Having been tried the Nuat Thai in Marikina, which is far from my place, having a hard time to commute, The Spa Herbaja will be my new spa favorite. Near, Cheap, and Great Massage Service.

I called them first just to make sure I will not wait long. Found out that on Thursday, 4 in the afternoon, there were not much customers. Good for me! No waiting time.

I was greeted by the owner with a great smile. Filled out a form, and asked to be waited on the receiving area.

20130321-205538.jpg

My therapist send out a wooden bowl with mild water. Appreciate the wooden feel, made me feel like I’m back in the 80′s in some province in Bicol. Instead of the normal plastic feel. Lovely! Put both feet to be cleansed. Then, assisted me on the curtain-type room, with a simple but effective massage table. (It was dark that’s why I had no picture of the table).

Two-days before spa, my body aches all over from long walks when we went to MAKATI. My mistake because I don’t have much exercise.

So, the calling for a fell good massage was perfect to visit on this day.

Over-all, my therapist did a great job. My body didn’t hurt during the session. She listened to my request of not focusing on my calves because it hurts too much when hit with pressure. So thumbs-up for her!

The only negative for me was they have no thai massage service. My body loves bone massage rather than focusing pn the muscles. But for price of P199 (less than $5) I don’t need to bash their service. Promo starts at 12nn-5pm.

For other services their business hour is until 12 mid-night.

This is How We Hangout (Two 32-year olds unemployed, un-married w/ no kids yet)

image

Me and Marge were resigned corporate employees. Me, who resigned since February of 2012 as of March 2013, still is a bum, resigned, retired, with no debt or whatsoever, still enjoying a life with no BOSS. Marge on the other hand was a newly resigned employee with her own reasons for dropping her work in a well-known corporation.

We decided to hangout in Makati last Tuesday, 12th of March, to meet a Financial Analyst from Sun Life Financials for options where to invest.

Technically, I’ve used up my savings from June 2012-January 2013 for I have travelled Hanoi, Kuala Lumpur, Cebu, HK & Macau. So I’m keeping my remaining funds for my other expenses. She might invest her funds anytime soon. I’ll just follow if I have extra funds.

We first went to Paseo Center to have our lunch at SHANGHAI BISTRO.

image

We ordered my favorite of mine, Beef Brisket with Wanton Noodles Soup. It was my first time there and the noodle soup reminded me of my favorite Chinese Restaurant in Binondo — Wai Ying.

image

We also ordered a shrimp camaron with mayonnaise.

image

I felt that we made a mistake on this one. I kinda not like the mayo for it’s sweetness and I didn’t tasted the freshness of the prawns due to it’s coated breading. But, because it was Marge’s treat, thanks to her, I don’t have to rush to Binondo for my Wai Ying cravings.

TOTAL: P500 + 45 service charge

Then we proceeded to Sun Financials for an hour of discussions.

After that, we walked on our way to Greenbelt 3 to have a refreshments. It was still sunny around 5PM. Saw J.Co and decided to hangout there. I ordered Matcha Frappe P145 with free donut.

image

Being a Matcha frappe fan, this was my least favorite. It was just sweet and didn’t taste the matcha that much. DQ’s Matcha Greentea Moolatte still tops my list because it only cost P99! On the other hand, I love their fast wifi.

All of a sudden, Marge was asking me where can we hangout next. She’s hungry or she doesn’t want to stay longer at J.Co. She pulled out her free stubs from different Greenbelt establishments. Then saw this adorable Scallops in the photo. I know where we’ll have our dinner. Walked from Greenbelt 3 to Greenbelt 2. We decided to have our at MA MAISAN.

It was late afternoon and my friend canceled our meet that day, I hurried to go to the mall because our internet was down, just to find out that SM North The Block (except outside the mall area) was down also. I was about to eat dinner at Burgoo restaurant because their food was appetizing and they have free WIFI. But, then I went out the mall and checked the other restaurants. When I was so hungry and my wifi got connected to their ANNEX mall, then SEOUL GARDEN was there welcoming me. Honestly, price was a bit higher for their available selections. Their free WIFI was my main consideration when I chose to have my dinner here and probably their helpful staff. And there were few groups dined in that night. Good for me.

CAB CAFÉ
18 East Capitol Drive Kapitolyo,
Pasig City
Tel. No.: (02) 477-5382

Went to Commonwealth, Quezon City to process my application for a new PLDT line because of their current promos. My cousin informed me that there will be a game between San Miguel Beer Philippines vs Saigon Heat at the Ynares Gym in Pasig for free. So after my errand, headed first to SM North Mall, to check on their 3-day SALE!

I’ve been a matcha fan eversince and this Matcha with 50%sugar was perfect for my tastebud. Yummy!

20130204-221920.jpg

After, SM North, headed to Ynares for the 5PM Asean Basketball League with my cousin. Ended at 7PM with San Miguel Beer (Philippines) winning 100-74 against Saigon Heat. Yipeee!

I went to my former office and met up with my friend, a former co-league at the same division. I suggested to hangout and try at CAB CAFE. It was my 3rd time here and it never fail me.

SAUSAGE PLATTER home-made sauges, perfect for bite-size while sipping a cold beer or a hot drinks.

20130205-153047.jpg

There was no Matcha available, so I choose my second-normal order for drinks, CAFE MOCHA P97 Large cup I must say, this one favored my taste. Sweet but not too sweet. I mean I love it! Been around HK for 8 days and tried Starbucks, Matchas, Milkteas, Gongcha, etc. This cup made me realized that I am really back in the Philippines!

20130205-153302.jpg

CHOCO PISTASCHIO P125 this was not supposed to be part of the “meal”. I just wanted to try their cakes and this looks good. And it was! It was not too sweet, you’ll feel the soft crunch from pistaschios, heavenly chocolate that’s not too overpowering. We ended up eating half of it. Because it was filling.

20130205-153808.jpg

I wanna go back! Again and again! With Cab Cafe now I’m thinking why I resigned from my work hahaha!

(I won’t trade my bum life for my hell-life w/ my employers, hahahaha!)

New China Guesthouse Rooms, there’s a refrigerator near the reception.

Automatic washing machine, hot water & free mineral water.

ROOM F a double bed, washroom + h&c shower in 1, side table, a small tv [with only 1 english channel], provides towels  (I found one piece of hair! Ewww!)

20130124-040820.jpg

Double Bed! I remember the hospitals when I saw this bed.

20130124-041513.jpg

A side table. Handy. With two-220W power supply.

That’s the washroom and the shower area. 2-feet from the bed. Un-hygienic!

Old Aircon. I got scared when I saw the black dirt inside, decided to turn it off on first night.

20130124-042052.jpg

The FILTHY Window. I changed my sleeping side, I got scared of the white looking molds. I started to think about my health.

Another DIRTY part of the Window.

A small cable TV. just 1 English channel, not much channels available.

20130124-042628.jpg

Maybe because of this. After elevator exit, you’ll see an open window showing this. It was night when I took the photo.

DIRECTIONS GOING TO NEW CHINA YAN YAN

Find the infamous CHUNGKING MANSIONS

20130124-042927.jpg

Upon entering the building, turn right on the first intersection, then left, FIND the Block D Elevators at the right side, even numbers are on the left and odd numbers on the right. New China Guesthouse is on the right elevator. [There are blocks in Chungking Mansion, you may ask the guard at the lobby near the elevator, you'll get confused. I did!]

20130124-043044.jpg

Hostels and Guesthouses per floor Very helpful!

20130124-043239.jpg

Don’t worry they’ll give you 2 keys (1 for the room and 1 for the reception door)

20130124-043342.jpg

I wanted to look for another room. Cleaner room I guess. I don’t like the filthy window. And I feel like I’m in a clinic. Hahahaha!

Thru AGODA.com we got the 1 double room for 2 for P2,024 (HK$387.45). This price fluctuates (lower or higher) depends on agoda’s. If we’ll NOT stay for 8 days, we’ll probably be in STANFORD HILLVIEW HOTEL you can get a double room for P3,500/night. A real hotel with reception at the lobby. We need cheap price, and we got New China Yan Yan Hotel.

as of January 30, 2013 (SUMMARY)

We stayed at room F for 8 days, we got used to the mold in the windows, used the dirty air-con, used the lower beds for our gigantic luggage & bags, they have no microwave to re-heat your food, I just gave our take-away to the man who guards the hostel (they are very nice tho), the place is very safe, with CCTV. Noises in the morning due to people talking in the hallway or in the reception area, and around the building itself. Bed is a bit hard, body aches in the morning. We did not used their towels, we brought our own towels, bed sheet, and pillow cases.

I will recommend their double-bed-plus-single-bed room for same price of their double bed. I saw it! It’s spacious, fairly clean, comfort room is far from the bed area, big for 2 people. If you have budget get it instead of the small double bed room.

MAGELLAN’S CROSS
Santo Niño,
Cebu City

From our hotel, CROWN REGENCY HOTEL & TOWERS, we rode a jeepney (I apologize, I didn’t get the code number) at the other side of the street. You can actually ask anyone for instructions and they will help you the best way they can. It’s safe and Cebuanos are approachable. The guy calling for passengers guide us to a specific jeepney and we safely sat near the driver so it will be easy to ask him for questions.

We only paid P7.50/head ($0.18/head) on a 20-minute ride. I was shocked that it’s not that far from our hotel and I was happy we didn’t get any Tour Offers from our Hotel. We walked 5 minutes and headed first to BASILICA DEL SANTO NIÑO.

MAGELLAN’S CROSS is just adjacent to the Basilica Del Santo Niño. You may visit it first or vice-versa.

RAMEN BAR
The Hub, Greenfield District,
(formerly Edsa Central)
Mandaluyong City

I just checked my photos in my phone and decided to post I almost forgot this one.

20130109-195343.jpg

I was informed by my former officemate that it just opened a few weeks ago (December 2012). I was about to go to Mandaluyong City that day to pick up my medicine orders. Being a December celebrant, I decided to treat her for dinner.

Ramen Bar staffs gladly help us explain their menu. I am not a Japanese Ramen fan (tho I love Japanese ebi tempuras and tuna & salmon sushis) that’s why I need a little help from them.

We picked R.B.S. 1 P380 ($9.30) I forgot what I ate during mid-afternoon, I was almost full when we ate dinner. Did not fully enjoy the experience of my first “authentic ramen”. I wanted to try this also thinking that I will travel JAPAN this year (2013), but plans have changed. Moving on..

20130109-195441.jpg

and CHEESE GYOZA P180 ($4.41) I know I will have difficulty eating this because I am not a gyoza fan. Ended up taking this batch at home as take-out.

20130109-200146.jpg

They also have FREE wifi.

Kanin Club Branches

Told them I already ate merienda but I will not pass this chance to eat at KANIN CLUB again. I suggested ordering the following:

LOADED FRIED RICE P188 ($4.60) may be over-priced but it’s really the best choice. Good for 3-4.

CRISPY LIEMPO P149 ($3.65)

I let them pick the following menu:

KARE-KARE P376 ($9.20)

THAI GREEN SALAD P180 ($44.41) a let down size-wise. Filipinos have a great variety of Mangoes but adding a THAI green mango doesn’t make sense especially if they’re a Filipino Restaurant. DON’T BUY THIS!

We went to KANIN CLUB for dinner on a Friday Night with same group.

Ordered the following..

ALIGUE RICE P156

20130209-064250.jpg

TOKWA’T BABOY (TOKBOY) P156 I just didn’t like the soft tofu cuts. I wanted it a little cooked so it will be crunchier. A little sour sauce. Almost a turn-off but I am still a tofu fan forever.

SINIGANG NA TADYANG NG BAKA P383 beef was so delicate that it melts in your mouth. Big for 3 people. Love the soup!

Merienda Buffet: Monday to Saturday (2:00PM to 5:30PM)

January 8, 2012 (Tuesday)

This day was my first hangout after I’ve been down for 2 weeks with a sinusitis. I went to the doctor last November (same sickness) and with the same symptoms on December I just did my own “diagnosis”. I feel better now. I already bought multivitamins & over-the-counter meds for future prevention of my nasal drips (twice to thrice a year). Crossing my fingers that I don’t experience the same two 2-week sinusitis, again!

I drop by SM City North EDSA Mall to check out new stuffs, like watches (watch stores are my haven!), bags, shoes, etc. My main focus was to check out the prices to compare it to Hong Kong. (We’ll be there on the 23rd to 30th of January). That’s why I did not shop for Christmas gifts and stuffs last December 2012.

Was hungry at around 4PM after strolling the mall, I already dine-in at KANGAROO JACK (Araneta Center, Quezon City). I don’t have any idea why SM North branch was priced at P220 ($5.39) compared to Araneta Center branch priced at P199 ($4.87).

I first checked their food, left for a while, checked other restaurants/fast food. I compared a P99 eat-all-you-can salad and a P90 tall milk tea, and I ended up back here at KANGAROO JACK Merienda Buffet [Eat-All-You-Can at P220]

Thin-crust PEPPERONI PIZZA enjoyed this one! thin, tasty, delicious. Ended up eating four slices.

20130109-033157.jpg

PEPPERONI PIZZA

FISH FILLET and FRIED CHICKEN Fish Fillet was not included on the buffet list, this was a plus. Got the white part and not the crusted ones. Love this also after the Pepperoni Pizza. Instead of calling it Fried Chicken it was more like Breaded Chicken. Just normal.

20130109-033356.jpg

FISH FILLET and FRIED CHICKEN

CALLOS and SPICY PORK RIBS got a slice of Spicy Pork Ribs and did not try Callos (not my favorite). It was also not part of the list – second bonus.

CALLOS and SPICY PORK RIBS

PLAIN RICE and JAVA RICE

SPAGHETTI in MEAT SAUCE and PESTO PASTA i love the saucy meat sauce, craved for more! pesto for me was too oily. I’m also not a fan of pesto.

MACARONI SALAD lacked the “christmas spirit” where people were putting a lot of all-purpose cream. My mistake for getting it on my plate. Wish they have green-salad.

20130109-034600.jpg

MACARONI SALAD

NACHOS Too much onions and green chilis. Turn off for me. Araneta Center branch Nachos was lovely tho!

I admit, I am a messy eater!

I had another 2 slices of pizza and second glass of iced-tea.

The food not included in the photos were: Soup with Garlic Bread, Banana Fritters (it was hard to chew and the chocolate dip was too sweet. I thought it was the same consistency with the Araneta Center Branch), Coffee Cream Jelly, and the Bottom-less Iced Tea.

I didn’t have much photos inside the church, I only have two. But upon entering, I was transported back in gradeschool days like reading a textbooks about Magellan, Lapu-Lapu, The Battle of Mactan, and Christianity. It was enlightnening by just entering the vicinity and seeing the old paintings that was like the ones I’ve read when I was studying.

NEW YEAR’s EVE CELEBRATION
January 1, 2013
San Mateo, Rizal, Philippines

I did not prepare any of these. It’s a shame that I asked my grandmother, 76years old and a certified cook, to prepare a list of seafood menu on New Year’s Eve. I’ve been sick since the 22nd of December and I don’t want to spread germs. Excuses! Hihi! but really as of this writing I still have sinusitis with mild cough and still sneezing.

20130103-021649.jpg

Filipinos differ in preparation depending on their budget but they don’t want to let this pass without anything on their table. It’s a tradition already.

Here’s what we served:

BUTTERED “butterfly” PRAWNS believe me these were my favorite.

20130103-022115.jpg

GINATAANG ALIMASAG (CRABS)

20130103-022313.jpg

BAKED TAHONG ( MUSSELS) with butter, garlic, & grated cheese

PAELLA ala FLORA
sticky rice as a symbol of unity, shrimps, squid, crabs, quial eggs, pork, mussels as toppings

20130103-022618.jpg

INIHAW NA LIEMPO (GRILLED PORK BELLY)
you might be discouraged to eat because of the carcinogens but my dad cooked this one to prefection. It’s not chewy and the marinate was just right, better ate this after cooking from the grill. RICE pleaseee!! :)

20130103-022827.jpg

HALABOS NA HIPON (PAN-FRIED SHRIMPS)

20130103-023134.jpg

STEAMED LAPU-LAPU (STEAMED GROUPER) a simple preparation made heavenly & healthy.

20130103-023311.jpg

The Famous EXCELENTE SLICED HAM from QUIAPO Manila requested by my grandmother. as I’ve said I was still sick and can’t go out during holidays so we asked my dad to buy this one for my grandmother. He went first to Quiapo Church because of the volume of people he came back doubled again. Appreciate the effort!

20130103-023514.jpg

I know I have no skills in Cooking but I know I have to, eventually. All I know is to give a budget with no effort much given. Pity! ;)

20130103-023938.jpg

Meet my FAMILY minus my brother, who’s in Dubai.

20130103-024849.jpg

I know my grandmother was happy to see that we improved this year in terms of food preparation. I already asked her to write down all her RECIPES in paper but she said she’s still busy. I’ll wait…

TABO-AN DRIED FISH MARKET
Pahina Central,
Cebu City
Philippines

You can give yourself a good one-hour to check all the stalls and learn how to haggle. In my point of view, I am not a good haggler. I have a list of what to order in hand and one of the ladies found out where my hotel was. I believed that was their signal to up the prices a bit probably a P20-30/kilo.

We went first to Basilica del Santo Niño, Magellan’s Cross and Fort San Pedro before headed to the famous market for dried fishes. We rode a jeepney just across the street from the Magellan’s Cross. You can asked any Cebuanos, they’re friendly and willing to guide you. That’s what we did. Tourists! hehe

It’s a 10-15minute jeepney ride with no traffic on a Friday afternoon (4PM). We checked first the stalls so I would know where will I buy my orders.

Entrance area when we went there there were few people buying “pasalubongs” so we took our time there.

20121223-015455.jpg

One of the stores where we bought our “pasalubongs” has fast wi-fi connection and we’d able to post and endorse their product. They have friendly staffs and they will pack your orders into 100g, 250g, 500g to 1Kg in a sealed plastic for FREE.

20121223-015803.jpg

The famous DRIED DANGGIT P470 ($11.44)/Kilo I know this was pricey on December. They said that it’s not yet season but I have to believed them or else I will leave empty handed. Just learn to haggle for the best price. You can lower it up to P450. I just have no skills. Hehe!

20121223-020233.jpg

DRIED DANGGIT P470 ($11.44)/Kilo

DRIED PUSIT (SQUID) P600 ($14.61)/Kilo I should have ordered more! When cooked it’s crispy and tasty.

SUGBU OTAP P45 ($1.10)

A TOTAL OF P3,000 ($73.05) weighing a total of 8 Kilos  better to know how much weight so you won’t need to problem on your baggage allowance at the airport.

We hailed a taxi in front of the Market and it’s a P70 ($1.70) 20-minute ride to CROWN REGENCY HOTEL & TOWERS.

Please Remember: bring some clothes with you if you have other plans after buying at the market. The smell of the dried fish will stick on to your clothes and skin.  So try not to buy before heading to the airport. Promise you’ll stink and now I know why they call people “Amoy Danggit”!

2012-December-19

It was my first time to watch after the elimination round. Alaska played against Air21 in which they won. This time around, this was Alaska Aces first SEMIS stint after their long time coach leave them for another team, which I hate so much.

Alaska Aces being a top 5 team after the elimination round, beat Meralco twice in a best-of-three series, and now in a best-of-seven series with the team who won 12-2 in the eliminations and needed one win to beat a lowly team, Air21 (No. 8), and the winner of the last 2 All-Filipino Cup Champions, the Talk N’ Text team. That’s called a tough task!

I should not be watching this series, but since, Psy concert was rescheduled on February, PBA decided to put the game on a double-header at Smart Araneta Coliseum. Game 2 was between my 2nd favorite team, Rain or Shine against my most hated team the San Mig Coffee (Alaska’s former head coach).

With 11.5 seconds left Alaska Aces had a chance to win the game, but a veteran player from Alaska decided to shoot the ball with 6 seconds left. A 1-pt loss to a great team.

I stayed until the 2nd half of Game 2 between RoS and SmC. I was hungry and just decided to have dinner alone.

Shanghai Siaolong Pao P108 ($2.63) or better known as Xiao Long Bao or Steamed Soup Dumplings.

20121220-185619.jpg

It has soft bun on top of a piece of carrot at the bottom for it not to stick. But theirs was thin bun so I didn’t enjoyed the soup inside the dumplings. There were better restaurants that offer Xiao Long Bao and this was the nearest.

STEAMED SHRIMP DUMPLINGS or HAKAW P110 ($2.68)

20121220-191507.jpg

It’s a bit pricey, I’ve eaten a lot of chinese dimsums that offer a ranged of P60-P90 per order. Theirs has small shrimps and isn’t tasty enough. Just bought it because of my cravings.

I will be in Hong Kong next year (2013) on January 23-30th. My first time and will finally eat authentic Chinese Streetfoods. I can’t wait!

After I ate dinner, decided to buy milk tea at Chatime Gateway Mall. because beside Chatime, Burgoo restaurant has a free wifi connection.

LARSIAN SA FUENTE
Fuente-Osmeña near Chong Hua Hospital and Cybergate Mall

I just learned about Larsian sa Fuente just days before our flight. I was reading about the beautiful Bojo River in Aloguinsan, Cebu but the unexpected typhoon visited the beautiful river 2 days before our trip. That’s the reason why I just decided to tour the City instead of a River Tour for my birthday. Nonetheless Cebu City didn’t fail me.

Larsian sa Fuente is just a 10-minute walk from our hotel, CROWN REGENCY HOTEL & TOWERS, very near to Chong Hua Hospital and Robinson’s Cybergate Mall.

If you are still not familiar with the place, you can ask any by-standers, they’re friendly and will assist you.

20121218-213637.jpg

There were lots of stalls to choose from, with same menu on their lists, but the difference was the PRICE.

On our first night, we tried at MAXS BBQ and MANO’S PLACE Stalls.

20121218-215719.jpg

Our order:
MAXS BBQ
Chicken Petso P60 ($1.46)
Pork bbq without fat P5 per stick ($0.05)
Chorizo P15 ($0.37)
“Puso” rice P3 each ($0.07)
MANO’S PLACE
Grilled Squid P90 ($2.19)

20121218-214040.jpg

Service was a bit slow, I was shocked the they first served the other table than us. They served no free soup.

Our total BILL: P175 ($4.19) not bad!

On our 2nd Night, being smarter about the price, my brother chose ALINDASAY Stall. They have electric fan and free soup to attract customers.

20121218-223456.jpg

Our orders at ALINDASAY Stall:
Liempo P80 ($1.95)
Grilled Squid 65 ($1.58)
Pork bbq with no fat P5 per stick ($0.05)
Chicken Petso P50($1.22)
“Puso” rice P3 each ($0.07)

20121218-223609.jpg

Total BILL: P250 ($6.07)

We were hungry that night. Having visited the different tourist spots in the city in the afternoon. We only had breakfast that day. The 2nd night was enjoyable, food was great especially the tasty liempo and superb service.

Larsian sa Fuente has lots of stalls to choose from, no need to worry about availability of tables and chairs, it’s safe, clean.

After I bought my tickets for my Cebu trip on April 2012. I happened to check www.ensogo.com.ph on that week and there was a 3D/2N discounted price of P5,000 ($121.72) for a Superior Room with 2 double beds and buffet breakfasts for 2. I immediately e-mailed Crown Regency Cebu for the reservations and they have a fast and reliable e-mail system that urgently answers your inquiries.

Before we headed to the hotel, we first visited MAGELLAN and LAPU-LAPU SHRINES in Mactan Island.

But if you happened to get a white taxi from the Mactan-Cebu International Airport, the taxi fare will costs you around P200 ($4.87) – P250 ($6.09) depending on the taxi you get. {I had an experience that the taxi driver asked an additional P50 on top of the total fare}.

We arrived at 9AM after our visit in Mactan Island. I went to the reception to ask if our reservation was confirmed. To my delight, she told me to go back at 11AM to see if there will be available rooms. My brother and I went to the a5-minute walk mall, Robinsons Fuente, and bought water and snacks. And stayed there for a while for their wi-fi connections.

We went back at exactly 11AM at the hotel and gave the receptionist my Ensogo Voucher and my I.D. In few minutes, she processed our early check-in (with NO extra costs). I felt relieved knowing that we need not wait until 2PM because I was so tired and got no sleep the whole night at the NAIA Airport.

Me and my brother, first checked out the Swimming pools at the 9th floor before heading to our hotel room.

Likes:
1) Service. They have a luggage service at the lobby and it’s for Free!

2) Adventure. Hotel has a sky-adventure that young and adults will surely enjoy.

3) Location. It’s 5-15min walk from Malls, Hospital, BBQ restaurants in Larsian sa Fuente, and a 15-20min jeepney ride to the tourist spots (Basilica del Santo Niño, Magellan’s Cross, Fort San Pedro, and Tabo-an Market)

4) Superior Room. We got the perfect room with the perfect view and the one assisted us gave us an early-check in with no extra charged.

Just a Minor Dislike:
1) The concierge and door guards will offer you the hotel tours for price range of P1,500-P2,500. A serviced car with your own driver that will let you visit the tourist spots in whole Cebu City. But they will only bother you on the first day.

MACTAN SHRINE PARK
Punta Engaño,
Mactan Island,
Cebu, Philippines

We arrived at 5:30am at the Mactan-Cebu International Airport, a one-hour-and-ten-minute plane ride from Manila. Took our time first at the airport because it was too early. By 6:00am we hailed a white taxi to Punta Engaño to visit Magellan Shrine and Lapu Lapu Shrine. It was a 30-minute taxi ride and costs us P130 ($3.16).

Good thing about the park was it was so clean and it has NO ENTRANCE FEE. Place was safe and there were cebuanos taking their morning jogs.

It was good idea to read blogs first before traveling to one place. That’s the time I learned about SuTuKil restaurants. It was just in the vicinity of the Park where the shrines were situated.

SuTuKil {grilled (SUgba), stewed (TUwa) or raw (KILaw)} restaurants are at the left side before entering the park. The famous Manna Sutukil was still closed at early morning. So we have no choice but to check the only open restaurant, Salo-Salo Sutukil.

20121215-225628.jpg

Me and my brother were not that hungry but we have to try seafoods in Cebu. We were first asked what kind of method of cooking we want for the shrimps. I like shrimps with garlic, but I heard something that changed my mind. Good thing the staff suggested the sweet sauce.

Here are our orders:

1/4-kilo of Shrimps in sweet sauce P180 ($4.38) {you can’t go wrong with shrimps, good for 2}

20121215-225857.jpg

and the P60 white rice {best complemented the shrimps, it tasted that it’s just been harvested, and i like its texture, good for 3}

20121215-230645.jpg

To be honest, we really enjoyed the shrimps. I could have ordered an extra seafoods but we were only 2 and I am almost full. We didn’t finished half of the rice and saved it for take out.

We were just slightly dissapointed when the bill came.

20121215-231314.jpg

Before we ordered, the price of a 1/4 kilo of shrimps cost only P120 ($2.92) but it indicated P180 ($4.38). I don’t want to ruin my Cebu travel so I didn’t pushed myself to changed it back to P120 ($2.92). They also add a table charged of P45 ($1.10). Don’t know where that came from. So, reminder: don’t make the same mistake I had.

Total Amount: P345 ($8.40)

They have a great view of nature. It’s still low-tide early 7AM.

2012-June-24 (Sunday)

This is a busy street near Hoan Kiem Lake in Hanoi, Vietnam when we arrived and hangout in Legend Beer Restaurant.

I guess this is the usual street environment with no stop lights, no policemen around, just a regular lifestyle in Vietnam..

and we even tried to be a local in Hanoi… watch!

2012-November-24 (Saturday)

My cousin, Din & I, decided to meet at Budgetlane at 5PM. We took a taxi going to Eastwood City. We paid P200 ($4.87) but coming from San Mateo to Eastwood City with a little traffic it’s P180 + P20 tip. We headed towards the Cinema Ticket Booth to watch the last part of Breaking Dawn paid P251/ticket ($6.11) prices vary on different cinemas. I didn’t told my cousin that I already watched it online. The difference was it’s only a cam-copy so I didn’t appreciate the special effects. Moving on, she bought a large fries and mc float and I ordered 6nuggets, regular fries & drinks value meal for P128 ($3.11) at Mc Donald’s.

We were just in time for the 6PM showing. The best part of the movie was not the special effects — looks fake, not the additional characters, not the story. But the last song “A Thousand Miles”. It’s the heart-felt side of the movie. I was teary-eyed holding back my tears. The movie ended at 8PM. Our cousin, Gerard texted us that he was already at Onion Blue waiting for us.

We hangout near The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf for free wi-fi connection. I still have a nasal-drip for 10 days now, and I know if I bought frappe I will suffer for the consequences. Decided to order Genmaicha Hot Tea P110 ($2.68) a brown-rice tea the cashier told me it was their best-seller. I didn’t know it was the green tea with brown rice which I’m not a fan of. More than suffering from my nasal drip I suffered from it’s taste & smell. I still drink it tho, I don’t to waste my P110! Lols. My 2 cousins ordered at Starbucks for the planner promo. I envy them both. I really missed cold drinks!

20121125-143901.jpg

It was 10PM, when Gerard wanted to have a snack. I was already thinking of eating at Restorante Bigoli and have their unlimited garlic breadsticks! I asked them P50 each ($1.22) and I’ll pay the rest. In 2 weeks, it will be my birthday, and it’s my way of an advanced treat for them, sorth of.

20121125-145958.jpg

I ordered, Garden Salad P65 ($1.58) greens with slices of cucumber, tomato, stips of carrots and a separate salad dressing, Ultimate Beef Stromboli P140 ($3.51) a soft-rolled dough with beef and bacon bits inside. Best eaten when served hot with a dipping sauce. Tour of Italy P180 ($4.38) a sampler of lasagna, bolognese spaghetti, and fettucini alfredo. I love the sauce of the lasagna pasta it has more meats inside. Spaghetti is not al dente. Fettucini alfredo was not that creamy.

They hinted they wanted to order more, I oblidged on ordering 3 kinds of pizza slices. Supremo Slice P90 ($2.19) it’s great that it has veggie & meat toppings. , Cheese Slice P65 ($1.58), kinda cold when it was served, so I didn’t appreciate the flavors of the cheese, Pizza Bacon Slice P80 ($1.95) I like this one also!.

Din, who ordered the pizza, told me they had an on-going promo. Every P500 “single” purchase, there is a free gellato stick. We tried to avail, but we had two-separate receipts. “Rules”.

They also served a refillable freshly baked garlic breadsticks. And they also has a non-password wifi which is good for like us, who loves taking pics and posting it on facebook, twitter, or instagram.

We, called it a night at around 12:30AM. Gerard drived his way home and we hailed a taxi which costs us P160+P20tip ($4.38) a little lower because there’s no traffic at midnight.

Bulgogi Brothers (Greenbelt 5, Makati City)

2012-November-17 (Saturday)

BULGOGI BROTHERS
A Korean BBQ Restaurant
Level 3, Greenbelt 5
Telephone: 621-6216, 621-5289

8AM. I woke up at around 8 in the morning (not my usual wake up time) to prepare for our meet at 11:30am. Yes, I “normally” give 2 to 2 1/2 hrs preparation time before my standard travel time. Let’s not go into details but in short it’s all about my hair. Hate it! Haha!

My friend, Romina, sent me a message that we’ll meet at 12nn. I understand her situation being a busy mother it will be hard for her to leave her precious one to go out of San Mateo and travel all the way to Greenbelt Makati . So our friend, Marge called from her office asking where we were. I told her to call Romina and ask her that I will wait for her anytime just for us to push with our hangout. Then came 2PM. Hehehe Romina texted that she’s ready to go. Waiting time is over and I don’t mind. I will adjust for them because it will be the first time for us three to meet and hangout in Makati, being friends since high school.

2:30PM Having a hard time waiting for the FX, we hailed a taxi from San Mateo to Cubao. It took us an hour ride and for just for my record P210 ($5) cab ride to Cubao. Paid by my dearest friend. We headed to MRT Cubao but waited for 15mins in a long line to get our tickets P12/person ($ 0.29/person Cubao to Ayala Makati). And another 15minutes MRT Cubao to Ayala Station. Almost there. We entered and walked three malls (SM Makati, Glorietta, & Landmark) heading to Greenbelt. Yehey Finally!

4PM. We finally saw Margie waiting at Fully Booked Greenbelt and headed to Bulgogi Brothers. We are starving! Hahahaha

20121119-172111.jpg

It took us a while before deciding what to eat. And I leave it to the two. It’s Margie’s treat for her advanced birthday on the 24th of November. Last year 2011 I remembered we were at Sumo Sam’s Trinoma.

BULGOGI BROTHERS

1) COMPLIMENTARY Apperizers
(sweet corns, sweet potatoes, quail eggs on a brown wooden plate; spinach salad in a separate plate; fermented eggplant, radish, and kimchi on a 3 separate small saucers
We enjoyed the spinach salad. I like the sweet spicy sauce which is tasty and best partner with the un-yang bulgogi. I only tried the kimchi & the salad for me to enjoy the main entrees.

20121119-181135.jpg

2) Bulgogi Brothers Special P 1,495.00 ($36.94) a combination of uncooked meats on a platter
(Un-Yang Style Bulgogi
(the heart shaped bulgogi) and Gwang-yang Style Bulgogi (stripped meats cooked in a special sweet sauce

As part of the restaurant’s service, a service-staff will cook the meats in front of you on the table’s built-in induction cooker. First cooked was the onions and sweet potatoes without oil and the heart-shaped beef patty or the Un-Yang Style Bulgogi. Cooked to perfection. It tasted just a regular beef burger patty but in a cute heart-shape meat. I ate it with rice and/or with spinach salad.

Un-Yang Style Bulgogi

20121119-183940.jpg

Gwang-yang Style Bulgogi

I love the sauce of gwang-yang bulgogi best eaten with rice. This tops my list. Meat was tender, sauce was a little sweet, perfect partnered with the Dubu Steak or crispy fried tofu.

20121119-184444.jpg

3) Haemul Doenjang-jjigae seafood soybean stew Php395 ($ 9.50) filled with fresh tasting shrimps, crab pieces, mussels, and served with complimentary free white rice. Rich flavored stew with a little after taste spicy kick.

20121119-185520.jpg

4) Dubu Steak 6pcs. Php245 ($6) fried crispy tofu with teriyaki sauce. I am a tofu fan and this I like with the sweet teriyaki sauce. Tasted bland without it. Margie has a stub for this so we got this for FREE

20121119-185953.jpg

5) Drinks
Iced Tea Lemon (non-refillable) with calamansi garnish Php75 ($1.80)
Raspberry Tea Mint Php150 ($3.60) Refreshingly good! do not forget to ask for their complimentary TEA, I wanted to ask but stayed with my iced tea lemon

20121119-191353.jpg

Here we are happy with our food choices and full after the free birthday treat of Margie.

20121119-191509.jpg

It was nice being with friends again. The normal talks over merienda meal. Totally awesome! Thanks to the birthday girl, Marge the one in the blue stripes.

October 26, Friday, was my grandmother’s 74th birthday. I had planned this for a month but I felt that I have failed in someways. First, her sister, my other grandmother, suggested also a buffet restaurant on a much cheaper price than Yakimix’s. I turned down her proposal in a nice way because I was thinking the location was pretty far from our place. It will be a hassle for us, family of seven (my brother who is in Dubai working) to travel from San Mateo, Rizal to Ace Hotel in Pasig City. And also, after out lunch I had planned to let the birthday celebrant enjoy the day in Trinoma Mall.

We were first in the reservations table. Upon seeing that we only have one no-smoke grill, I was slightly dissapointed because we were seven in a long table so we had difficulty sharing the grill.

With 2 grandmothers, with cooking & restaurant background, they have commented that the food taste was just normal, nothing special. It was filling, but we were looking for a much better taste. For me, there were just few food that I enjoyed in Yakimix Trinoma, a letdown from their branch in Mall of Asia (I enjoyed everything there!).

It was a holiday so the price per person costs Php620 ($15) we were 7 including the 2 senior citizens with 20% discount. The TOTAL costs after our meal was P4,242.86 ($103). In the Philippines, this is already pricey. For regular family like us. I just really want them to try Yakimix, a buffet restaurant.

I wanted to have a big celebration for my grandmother’s birthday, but, I can only accomodate my family & her older sister. I felt bad for this.

After the buffet lunch, I rented a wheelchair in the mall (this should be free), and we headed to LANDMARK, a department store. I’ve been wanting to buy my grandmother new blouses but she’s kinda picky. The wheelchair had gave her legs ease of long walks. That’s the reason she enjoyed finding the right clothes for her. (I asked my brother to send a couple of pesos as his birthday present, that’s the clothes we bought).

VIKINGS, a buffet restaurant,in SM Marikina has a birthday promo. So me and my grandmother has a separate date together on Tuesday, October 30th. I will only pay for my bill because birthday celebrants of October & November are FREE!

Can’t wait because in Vikings there’s a Chinese cuisine that my grandmother will surely enjoy.

I visited my former office to get the medicines I bought (on a discounted price) for my grandmother. That day also was their last day for the week because of a long weekend (October 26, Friday, has been announced as Holiday) . And, there was an Employees’ Birthday month. So, timing to visit Greenfield District (my former everyday walkway to the office for 7 years) again for me not to waste time & money. San Mateo, Rizal to Mandaluyong City is more than an hour commute ride. But I’m not complaining. I’m used to this.

At Manda Centrale they were offering lots of food choices. I cannot enumerate all. But here are some photos of me and my former co-league enjoying the food with our friends.

Mio Gelati mint, pistaschio, strawberry flavors Mint taste like Andes Chocolates my favorite but my friend told me it tastes like toothpaste — funny! :) I was dissapointed with pistaschio, tasted bland, if you happene to taste paper more like that.

Will I be back? Definitely, yes! Aside from I always visit my former office every end of the month, it will be fun trying another food options from different stalls again. I can’t wait!

To be really, really honest, I only enjoyed the Iced tea (bottomless, Nachos (lots of tomatoes & onions), and the Banana fritters (with chocolate dip). I ain’t saying I don’t like the other menu, but, I like my food a little hot. They have problems with their heater affecting the supposed-to-be-more delicious menu.

This week all I’m thinking about is my food travels. I missed the tastes of this, the tastes of that. On Friday, October 26th, it’s my Grandmother’s 74th birthday, and I wanted to celebrate it with our family, in a Buffet environment. I know old people shouldn’t eat more than they can, but I know, they also would like to remember eating a cuisine that they would normally not cook. So see you,YAKIMIX Trinoma on Friday, AND, my date with my Grandmother at VIKINGS SM Marikina on Tuesday, October 30th.

2012-October-23 (Tuesday)

The other day, I went out to do some itineraries at BPI Bank, and, before heading home, decided to re-load my phone. (Yes, I don’t have postpaid plans). I’m more of wi-fi based internet user, or whatever. Haha!

Sent few messages to friends that who are not frequent, Facebook or Twitter users. That lead to a Tuesday meet with my two high school best friends, Romina and Janice, both Mommies.

I dropped by Romina’s office first before we meet Janice in the near-by Mc Donald’s with her daughter, Rhian.

Had a quality talk with them in the van that will drop us to Romina’s home. Her partner saw us and decided to order food, kindly check the photo above . I’m still smiling while writing this, because I really wanted pizza and mojos! hihihi..

20121024-043627.jpg

When you have 2 kids (Janice) and 1 baby (Romina), it’s hard for us to spend our quality time in a restaurant or a mall. But then again, this is us, we really just spend time talking about anything, especially, they have no time to tell their lives via text messages, or via unlimited call, why? Because they were both busy taking care of their precious ones. 😊

I was kinda relieved/de-stressed (I didn’t go out literally from our house for 2 weeks prior this. A decision I made to keep myself from unexpected expenses hehehe will not do it again anytime soon!) by just talking to them. Comparing our lives now, after high school, what was happening now and our future plans.

I just hope we have more “this” but then again, I am the only 2 single (no kids yet, but wishing and hoping) left in our group.

Meet baby Joelle, Romina’s baby 🚼

20121024-045037.jpg

Time for me to sleep. It’s already 4:45am and I have a scheduled Gateway Mall stroll, Kangaroo Jack eat-all-you-can, and a PBA (Philippine Basketball Association) games to watch at Araneta Coliseum, today, Wednesday, Alone ☺

Me and two of my highschool friends attended a baptism that day. And after the luncheon, we weren’t decided where to go. Then along the way we ended up in University of the Philippines in Quezon City. We parked my friend’s car and decided to take a coffee. Because we’re still full from the luncheon. But ended up ordering the following.

20120928-042528.jpg

Sansrival Php80/slice this is not my order. But I wanted to take a small bite but upon seeing my friend enjoying her piece I just wish I had ordered one :)

20120928-042559.jpg

Chocolate Kiss Suite 4 squares for Php95

Kahlua Butter Cake and Carrot Cake I am clearly not a fan of cakes, but, my other friend suggested to try these and I obliged. I’m still full and I just want to have a bit size food. The choices are:
· Devil’s Food Cake
· Carrot Cake
· Dayap Chiffon Cake
· Kahlua Butter Cake
· Orange Chiffon Cake
· Prune Cake
· Quezo Chiffon Cake

20120928-042631.jpg
These were the two available flavors. So we didn’t get the chance to taste the other cakes.

Iced Cappuccino Php85 i wanted a drink to perk me up.

I was never a fan of chicken feet even in chinese restaurants. I don’t know why. Pig’s skin is perfect may it be grilled or fryed. Thumbs up!

(Left) Ulo ng Manok or Chicken’s Head
(Right) Tenga ng Baboy or Pig’s Ear

20120928-034738.jpg
I learned to eat the chicken’s head when I was younger but I seldom order this because most of my order includes chicken’s and pig’s intestines. But time to time I don’t mind ordering one. I have problem eating grilled pig’s ear. It’s hard to chew sometime. So i always skip that one.

McDo Philippines has this promo “Prioritize Twister Fries” and I gladly oblidge! I am not a super twister fries fan but it’s enjoyable to eat this while it’s still here. Promo Period will end on the 16th of September 2012.

I met my former co-league and I told her i’ll treat her Twister Fries for dinner “snack”. And had a chit-chat at McDo about my future solo travel, the current situations in my former office, and she invited me to her child’s fieldtrip in Subic Bay on the 21st of September. And yes, I am excited to attend. With my limited fund before the end of the month, I can not pass up this opportune time to travel — because it’s cheap and I’ll be with my bff and her adorable daughter, Chloe!

2012-August-30 (Thursday)

This was the same voucher I bought from ENSOGO for Php125 ($3.00). I went there alone because my cousin wasn’t available. I decided to get the 3PM schedule so I won’t be having difficulty waking up early. Went there 10minutes before three. It was not peak hours so I was scheduled on the dot.

They will clean your feet first with a warm water.

20120912-234803.jpg

Then off to the room. Here, rooms are just divided by curtains. They will give you a loose shirt and shorts. I just put it on top of my shorts and shirt.

20120912-234852.jpg

Uncomfortable to use a pillow when having a back massage. Some spa uses a massage bed with face hole. In Riverbanks branch, just a simple bed with pillow and thin blanket.

20120912-235102.jpg

A testament that Thai Massage is best fits my body rather the oil based Swedish Massage. My body needs bone streching and I don’t want any oil in my body. This was my second time in Nuat Thai and I am not that choosy in terms of massages and spa. For Php125 I don’t need to ask for a high quality service.

They also offer customers a free water or tea after the 1-hr massage. You have a choice if you want a female massage therapist or masseur (male).

Went to the stone-throw mall, Trinoma Mall to check on stores and sale.

Ok, I love SM Malls for its Mall-Wide FREE WI-FI and Trinoma for its strategic locations of shops. What I hate about SM North? Restaurant’s have service charge of 5%.

I’ve been checking on shoes and finally decided to have an all-in-1 shoes. I can wear it as a casual shoes that won’t hurt my soles (sorry converse chucks but you never fail to gave me feet and back aches when I do my malling), this will be my “walking” shoes for exercising (if I feel to, most of the time I don’t get enough exercise), I can join a Run (if i have the will to wake up early for a friendly competition)..
